Where Amerishade does best in Austin
Amerishade is a specialty grass for deep shade. It can hold its color with as little as 3 hours of direct sun, so it's the one to try under mature live oaks, between buildings or on a north-facing side yard where other St. Augustine has thinned out. It grows slowly and only takes light foot traffic, and its drought tolerance is low to medium, so keep it in the shady spots it's made for. For a whole yard, use it in the shadiest sections and a sunnier variety everywhere else.
How much Amerishade St. Augustine do you need?
One pallet of Amerishade St. Augustine covers about 450 sq ft. Measure the area in square feet, divide by 450 and round up, then add 5 to 10% for cuts around beds, trees and curves. A 2,000 sq ft yard, for example, comes to 5 pallets before that extra. Our delivery minimum is 1 pallet, brought out on a flatbed. The sod calculator does the math for you, and this guide walks through measuring an odd-shaped yard.
Lead time and delivery
We'll confirm availability and a delivery date when we quote your job. We deliver across Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, Kyle, Buda and Leander, and delivery pricing depends on distance and order size.
Installation and ground prep
Our crew can prep the ground and lay it for you. Most yards just need light raking, uneven ones get topsoil and grading, and lawns full of old grass or weeds get a full sod removal and renovation first. See how sod installation works.
