TifTuf is built for Austin's water limits. University of Georgia research found it uses 38% less water than standard Bermuda, and its drought tolerance is very high. It takes 4 to 6 hours of sun, a little more shade than Tifway 419 handles, and it stands up to high foot traffic. It roots in under 7 days and has the earliest spring green-up of any Bermuda we carry, which makes it a strong pick for new construction lots and yards under summer watering restrictions.
How much TifTuf Bermuda do you need?
One pallet of TifTuf Bermuda covers about 450 sq ft. Measure the area in square feet, divide by 450 and round up, then add 5 to 10% for cuts around beds, trees and curves. A 2,000 sq ft yard, for example, comes to 5 pallets before that extra. Our delivery minimum is 1 pallet, brought out on a flatbed.
